The Economic Council of Germany (Wirtschaftsrat Deutschland) was founded in 1963 and is a nationwide entrepreneurial association. It represents more than 12,000 members and advocates for the interests of the business community in dealings with policymakers, public administration, and the wider public.
The association provides its members with a platform to actively shape economic and social policy in line with the principles of Ludwig Erhard’s Social Market Economy. It is financed exclusively through membership contributions.
The Economic Council of Hesse (Wirtschaftsrat Hessen), headquartered in Frankfurt, consists of 19 regional sections and has approximately 2,000 members.
